To multiple fractions, you multiply numerator x numerator, then denominator x denominator. in this example, first convert 1 1/2 to an improper fraction. it will become 3/2. for this equation, you next multiply. so, (7x3) / (8x2). this simplified to 21 over 16. Anna's mistake is that she multiplied 7 x 1/2 rather than 7/8 x 1 1/12
