    Drinks=6

    Candies=4

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let the number of drinks be x while candies be y. Considering the numbers

    X+y=10

    Making x the subject of the formula then x=10-y

    Considering the cost then

    5x+4.5y=48

    Substituting x here then

    5 (10-y) + 4.5y=48

    50-5y+4.5y=48

    0.5y=2

    Y=4

    X=10-y

    X=10-4=6
