    w = - 4

    6w + 2 = 9w + 14

    Combine like variables by subtracting 9w and 2 from both sides

    6w ( - 9w) + 2 ( - 2) = 9w ( - 9w) + 14 ( - 2)

    -3w = 12

    Divide both sides by negative 3 to separate the variable from any integers

    (-3w = 12) / - 3

    w = - 4
