    Step-by-step explanation:

    A soup can is a cylinder.

    The formula for volume of a cylinder is the following, V = Πr2h.

    Given:

    Height, h=12

    Diameter, d=8

    r = 8/2

    = 4.

    Now we can just plug the numbers into the formula

    V = Π * (4) 2 * 12

    = 603.19 cm^3

    For 16 cans,

    = 16 * 603.19

    = 9650.97 cm^3 of metal
