On average white-collar workers have greater job satisfaction than laborers, but there is more variability in the job satisfaction between white-collar workerks than between laborers.

    Step-by-step explanation:

We should remember that the mean is a measure of central tendency, i. e., this give us a value that represents the center o a set of numbers. The mean is sometimes called the average, and so, if the job satisfaction between white-collar workers have a mean of 7 and the job satisfaction between laborers have a mean of 4, we have that on average the job satisfaction between white-collar workers is greater than the job satisfaction between laborers. On the other hand, variance is a measure of spread, i. e., this give us a value that tell us how spread are the numbers, if the variance is high, there is high variability (the numbers are far each other) and if the variance is low there is low variability (the numbers are close each other). Because the variance of job satisfaction between white-collar workers is 10 and for laborers is 1, we have there is more variability in the job satisfaction between white-collar workers.
