    a. if the function is f (x) = 2x+3 and they ask you what is f (5) ? Then you just replace x with what they replaced x with and solve. f (5) = 2 (5) + 3. 2x5=10+3=13 so then f (5) = 13. So in your case they replace x with 2. Plug it in. h (2) = 2^2+4.

    2 to the power of 2 is 4 and then + another 4 which is 8. Thats how you get the first one, now you try and solve REC (2).
