A high school reports that their students SAT scores were down by 7% in one year. The next year, however, the test scores rose by 18%. The school principal announces, overall test scores have improved by 11% over the past two years.

    That is true. Say the score was originally 79% it drops 7% it would be 72% then it rose 18% which would make it 90%

    90%-79%=18%
