    Step-by-step explanation:

    4x-3y=33 ... (1)

    x+4y=14 ... (2)

    Multiply (2) by 4

    4x + 16y = 56 ... (3)

    Equation (1) substracted from (3)

    4x - 4x + 16y - (-3y) = 56 - 33

    16y + 3y = 23

    19y = 23

    y = 23/19

    y = 1 4/19

    From equation (2)

    x + 4y = 14

    And y = 23/19

    x + 4 (23/19) = 14

    Multiply each term by 19

    19x + 92 = 266

    19x = 266 - 92

    19x = 174

    x = 174/19

    x = 9 3/19
