Carl drove from his house to work at an average speed of 35 miles per hour. The drive took him 25 minutes. If the

drive home took him 30 minutes and he used the same route in reverse, what was his average speed going home?

    (35mph/60) = 0.583 miles per minute

    25 min x 0.583 miles per min = 14.583 miles is the distance between home and office.

    So 14.583miles/30min x 60 minutes = 29.167 mph
