    To find the x-int change the equation to standard form Ax+By=C

    y=1/2x+6 subtract 1/2x from both sides.

    -1/2x + y = 6 Multiply both sides by 2 to get rid of the fraction.

    2 (-1/2x + y) = 6 (2)

    -x + 2y = 12 Plug in 0 for y to find the x-int

    -x + 2 (0) = 12

    -x = 12 Divide both sides by - 1

    x = - 12

    The x-int is (-12, 0)
