    Area = length multiplied by width

    Area of rectangle:

    Area=7 x. 75

    Area = 5.25

    Area of square:

    Area = 2.5 x 2.5

    Area=6.25

    The square has a larger area because when you multiply the length and width of both shapes the square has a larger sum
