    Answer: let the amount invested be P and Q

    P+Q=21360

    0.12P-0.05Q=1822

    0.12 (21360-Q) - 0.05Q=1822

    2563.2-0.12Q-0.05Q=1822

    0.17Q=741.2

    Q=4360

    P=17000
