A child has $9.30 in a piggy bank. If the child spends 1/3 of the money on a snow cone and then finds $0.75 to put in the piggy bank, how much money does the child now have in the piggy bank?

    1/3 of $9.30 is $3.10 because you are dividing 930/3 and multiplying by the numerator 1. Then subtract 9.30-3.10 because that is what was spent on the snow one. The child now has $6.20 plus the. 75 she finds equals $6.95
