    Answer: 6 hot dogs

    Step-by-step explanation:

    The person gave you $18, first, we will charge the six soft drinks, that each one costs $1

    So the six drinks cost $6

    the remaining money is $18 - $6 = $12

    Now, with the $12 the customer wants to buy hot dogs, that each cost $1.75

    The number of hot dogs can be obtained by dividing the total money by the price of a hot dog:

    N = $12/1.75 = 6.8

    But you can not buy an 0.8 of a hot dog, so we must round to the whole number:

    N = 6

    So the maximum number of hot dogs that the money can buy is 6

    18.00 - 6.00 = 12.00 / 1.75 = 6.8
