What is the difference between associative and commutative property?

    The difference between associative and commutative property is that:

    a} In Associative property numbers can be grouped in any way and yet the answer will be same.

    Ex 1; (2+3) + 2 or (2+2) + 3 gives the same result i. e.

    Ex 2; (2*3) + 2 or (2+2) * 3 gives the same result i. e. 12

    b} In Commutative property numbers can be arranged in any order yet the result is same

    Ex 1; 2+6+1 or 1+2+6 gives the same result i. e. 9
