    Pythagorean theory states that the square of the hypotenuse in a right angled triangle is equal to the sum of the square of opposite and the square of the adjacent.

    (hypotenuse) ^2 = (opposite) ^2 + (adjacent) ^2

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Pythagorean theory is applicable to right angle triangle, to calculate for the length of a particular side, when two other sides are known. the three sides in a right angled triangle are called:opposite, adjacent and hypotenuse.

    Let opposite = k

    Adjacent=a

    Hypotenuse=h

    Pythagorean theory is h^2=a^2+k^2

    A2 (squared) + B2 (squared) = C2 (squared)

    With the 3 sides of the triangle C is the hypotenuse. So whatever the hypotenuse equals it is C. A&B are the other 2 sides and you can use that formula.
