Simplfy - (5-y)

Can some one simplfy this?

    - (5-y)

    pretend that there is a - 1 in front of the bracket

    -1 (5-y)

    multiply the bracket by - 1

    (-1) (5) = -5

    (-1) (-y) = y

    Answer:

    -5+y or y-5
