Why does the formula for the volume of a cylinder include πr^2?

    Since the bottom of the cylinder is a circle you must use pie because pie has many things to do with a circle and r is the radius because it is half of the diameter of the circle.

    The bottom of a cylinder is a circle. The circle formula is πr^2. So this is why it is included.
