    1 km = 1,000 m

    100 km / hr = 100 x 1000 m = 100,000 m

So in 1 hour a car going 100 kilometres per hour goes 100,000 metres

    1 hr = 60 min = 60 x 60 = 3,600 seconds

So in 1 hour there is 3,600 seconds

To find how far the car goes in 1 second, divide 100,000 metres by 3,600 seconds

    100,000 m / 3,600 sec = 27.77777778 m / sec (round to 27.8 metres per second

To find out how far the car will go in 2 seconds multiply 27.8 metres times 2

    Therefore a car travelling 100 km / hr goes 27.8 x 2 or 55.6 metres

    Answer: 55.6 metres
