    Y = 9.2

    Explanation:

    13 (y+7) = 3 (y-1)

    Distribute the 13 on the left side and the 3 on the right side.

    13y+91=3y-1

    Subtract the 3y to the 13y (little brother goes to the big brother always)

    10y+91=-1

    Subtract 91 to the right side.

    10y=92

    Divide by 10.

    Y=9.2
