Decide whether each of the following statements makes sense (or is clearly true) or does not make sense (or is clearly false) Explain your reasoning.

In my data set of 10 exam scores, the mean turned out to be the score of the person with the third highest grade No two people got the same score.

Choose the correct answer below

A. The statement makes sense because the mean of a data set can be pulled far to the left or right of the midde of the range of values by outliers.

B. The statement does not make sense because the mean of a data set is always in the middle of the range of values.

C. The staternent des not make sense because the mean of a data set is either near the middle of the range of values, or decreased by outliers in the data. The mean cannot be increased by outliers.

D. The statement does not make sense because there were no repeated scores, so the distribution does not have a mean.

    A

    Step-by-step explanation:

By inputting large numbers, the mean can be greatly skewed, and a mean like this could easily make sense if the scores had outliers like these. A median, however, could not work this way.
