A triangle has a perimeter of 30 cm. Two sides of the triangle are each twice as long as the shortest side. Find the length of the shortest side

    So let the shortest side be x

    Then the lenght of one long side is 2x

    Therefore the perineter is 2x + 2x + x = 30

    We now solve for x

    2x + 2x + x = 30

    5x = 30

    x = 30/5

    x = 6

    So the lenght of the shortest side is 6cm
