    Step-by-step explanation:

    Distance = speed * time

    Lealie can run a 6 first mile, and 8 minutes for each additional mile afterwards. This means that in x minutes after the first mile, the total distance that Lealie can run is

    6 + x/8

    Weseky can run. 9 mile, and 7 minutes for each additional mile. This means that in x minutes after the first mile, the total distance that Weseky can run is

    9 + x/7

    If they each ran for 1/2 an hour (30 minutes,

    Total distance that Lealie would run is

    6 + 30/8 = 6 + 3.75 = 9.75 miles

    Total distance that Weseky would run is

    9 + 30/7 = 9 + 4.29 = 13.29 miles

    Therefore, Weseky ran further. The number of miles by which Weseky ran further is

    13.29 - 9.75 = 3.54 miles
