What is 3x+y=17 and 4x+2y=20

    Are you trying to get the value of x or y?

    To get the value of y u would subtract 3x on both sides.

    Y=17-3x

    To get the value of x you would subtract y on both sides.

    3x=17-y then divide 3

    X=17-y/3
