    2.30*3=6.90

    6.90+2.30=9.20

So on Monday he found $2.30 in total (a dime is 10 cents) then it says three times the amount so $2.30 times 3 is $6.90. It then says on Monday and Tuesday so $2.30 + $6.90 equals $9.20
