    You want to get X by itself so you do the opposite operation instead which you will also have to do on the other side

    Step-by-step explanation:

    9/4x+2=20 (4x+2)

    9=20 (4x+2)

    switch sides

    20 (4x+2) / 20=9/20

    4x+2=9/20

    4x+2-2=9/20-2

    x=31/80
