    -2/3x - 3/4x = 5/6.

Find the common denominator for - 2/3x and - 3/4x. The common denominator is 12.

    Multiply by 4 for - 2/3x. (-2) (4) / 3 (4) x=-8/12x

    Multiply by 3 for - 3/4x. (-3) (3) / 4 (3) x=-9/12x

    -8/12x-9/12x=5/6

    -17/12x=5/6

Multiply both sides by - 12/17

    (-17/12x) (-12/17) = 5/6 (-12/17)

    Cross out - 17 and 17, divide by 17. Then becomes 1.

    Cross out - 12 and - 12, divide by - 12. Then becomes 1.

    1*1*x=x

    Cross out 6 and - 12, divide by 6. 6/-6=1, - 12/6=-2

    5*-2/17=-10/17

    Answer: - 10/17
