Clara bought 16 cases of water bottles. There were 12 water bottles in each case. Four students wrote and solved equations to find b, the number of bottles that Clara bought. Which student wrote and solved the equation correctly?

A. Maya's work:

b/12 = 16

b = 1.3

B. Larissa's work:

12b = 16

b = 1.3

C. Sally's work:

b/12 = 16

b = 192

D. Anika's work:

12/b = 16

b = 192

    Sally's work would be correct

    We know that Clara bought 16 cases of water bottles

    In each case, there are 12 water bottles

    So when you multiply 16 by 12, she would have a total of 192 water bottles.

    In Sally's work, you would see her equation is:

    b/12 = 16

    In order to get b by itself, you would have to multiply both sides by 12. Hence, you're multiply 16 by 12, which what you're suppose to do in order to get the total amount of bottles, or b.

    Therefore, your answer would be Sally's work.

    Answer:

    Sally's work

    Sally's work would indeed be the correct answer : D

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Since we know that when you write out the problem, it would be b/12=16

    we can already get rid of two answers.

    Next, just multiply by 12 on both sides and you would get 192.

    Make sure you check your work, and Bam! Your done!
