    1/2 (x-4) = 1/3x+2

    6x1/2 (x-4) = 6x1/3x+2x6

    3 (x-4) = 2x+12

    3x-12=2x+12

    3x-2x=12+12

    x=24

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Multiply the whole equation by 6 (LCM of 2 and 3)

    1/2 (x - 4) = 1/3x + 2

    6 * 1/2 (x - 4) = 6 * (1/3x + 2)

    3 (x - 4) = 6 * 1/3x + 6*2

    3x - 12 = 2x + 12

    3x - 2x = 12 + 12

    x = 24
