Probability of ace drawn is: 4/52

Probability of heart drawn is: 13/52

    For question (a)

    P (ace or heart) = p (ace) + p (heart)

    P (ace or heart) = 4/52 + 13/52

    P (ace or heart) = 17/52

    For question (b)

    P (ace) ' = 1 - 4/52 = 48/52

    P (heart) = 1 - 13/52 = 39/52

    P (neither ace nor heart) = 48/52 * 39/52
