A figure consists of a square and a semicircle, as shown in the diagram below. if the length of the square is 6, what is the area of the shaded region?

    The area of a circle is a = 2 pi r ... so just Take half of that pi (radius) ... and the radius is 3 because 6 is the length across the circle ot the diameter and the diameter is 2 times the radius ... your answer is 3.14 (3) = 9.42
