Is 4 (3m + 4) = 2 (6m + 8) a solution or no solution?

    First you have to distribute the 4 to 3m and 4 which would give you

    12m+16=2 (6m+8)

    Then you have to distribute the 2 to 6m and 8 which would then give you

    12m+16=12m+16

    That cannot be solved therefore it is a no solution (it can also be called an infinite solution because the same problem is on both sides of the equal sign)
