    Below in bold.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Y = mx + b is the slope-intercept form of a straight line where m = the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept.

    Parallel lines have the same slope so the equation of a line parallel to

    y = 1/2x + 13 could be y = 1/2x + 10 as they have the same slope of 1/2.

    Equations which are perpendicular:

    If the slope of one is m then the slope of the perpendicular equation is - 1/m.

    So for y = 1/2 x + 13 an equation perpendicular could be y = - (1 / 1/2) + 13

    = y = - 2x + 13

    1) y=1/2x+12

    2) y=-2x+13

    3) Parallel lines have same slope, different y intercept and perpendicular lines have opposite reciprocal slopes.
