2 (3n+3) = 6n+3 are not equal to each other because if you distribute 2 into (3n+3), then you get 6n+6 which is not equal to 6n+3

No, 2 (3n+3) = 6n + 3 is not true.
first you distribute the 2 into 3n and 3, the problem should look like this:
6n+6 = 6n+3
