    x = 2.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    5x - 6 = 2x Subtract 2x from both sides:

    5x - 2x - 6 = 2x - 2x

    3x - 6 = 0 Now add 6 to both sides:

    3x = 6

    x = 2.

    x = 2

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Move all the variable to one side:

    5x - 6 - 2x = 0

    Move unknown to the other side:

    5x - 2x = 6

    Solve:

    3x = 6

    x = 6/3

    x = 2
