    x=1 & x=9

    Step-by-step explanation:

    first you must get the absolute value by its self by the inverse of 6 (which is adding 6) to both sides of the equation and then dividing 2 by both sides in order to get the absolute value by itself. now split the equations up 2x+8=10 and slove for x and the other x is 2x+8=-10 now solve for x and you have your two answers.
