A CD is originally priced at $16.50. The sale price of the CD is $14.85. What is the percent discount for the CD?

    First we subtract 16.5 - 14.85.

    16.5 - 14.85 = 1.65

    Now we divide this to our original price.

    1.65 / 16.5 = 0.1

    Multiply by 100:

    0.1 * 100 = 10%

    So the percent discount was 10%.
