    The answer is: 28.59

    Solution:

Total cost before tax and discount:

    9.99 x 3 = 29.97

    total discount:

    29.97 x 0.10 = 2.997

    total cost - discount:

    29.97-2.997=26.973

    Tax:

    26.973 X 0.06 = 1.61838

    Total cost plus tax:

    26.973 + 1.61838 = 28.59138 round to only 2 decimals: 28.59
