The distributive property usually refers to the distributive property of multiplication. The distributive property lets you multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products.

Example:

Lets say your problem was 6 (7+18)

so with the distributive property you could say

6 (7) + 6 (18)

so 42+108 which equals 150
