    Children=52

    Adults=25

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Total of children and adults is 81 so lets x be the adults and y be the children which in equation form can be written as

    x+y=81 (Equation 1)

    As Children are charged $2 per child and adults are charged as $5 per adult so total expenditure of both adults and children is $237 which in equation form can be written as

    5x+2y=237 (Equation 2)

    Extracting value of y from Equation 1

    y=81-x (Equation 3)

    Put value of y from Equation 3 in Equation 2

    5x+2 (81-x) = 237

    5x+162-2x=237

    3x=237-162

    3x=75

    x=25

    Putting value of x in Equation 3

    y=81-25

    y=56
