13 = r/12 solve for r

    13 = r/12, first to cancel 12 and leave r alone you multiply it by 12 and it cancels and whatever you do on one side you do to the other. So you multiply 13 times 12 too.

    You are then left with, 13•12 = r

    Which is 156

    Therefore,

    r = 156
