The first x would equal 2 and the second x would equal 2 because when you multiply 2x2=+10x2=24 and I believe that would be your answer.

    x2 + 10x = 24

    x2 + 10x - 24 = 0

    (x - 2) (x+12) = 0

    x - 2 = 0 so x = 2

    x + 12 = 0 so x = - 12

    answer: solutions are x = - 12 and x = 2
