    Step-by-step explanation:

Tanya is is using both red and blue ribbons to wrap a gift. The length of the piece of red ribbon that she is using is 11/12 foot long.

The length of the piece of blue ribbon that she is using is 5/6 foot long.

The total length of ribbon that she will use in all to wrap her gift would be the sum of of the length of red ribbons + sum of the length of the blue ribbon. It becomes,

    11/12 + / 5/6 = (11 + 10) / 12 = 21/12 foot
