A State's License plates consist of 3 letters followed by 4 digits. How many possible license plates can be issued using this condition?

    A state's license plates consist of 3 letters followed by 4 numbers.

    Since we know that, in English alphabet there are 26 letters and also there 10 digits on a number scale ranging from 0 to 9

    Case 1: When repetition is allowed.

    Therefore, the total number of license plates that can be generated

    = 26 * 26*26*10*10*10*10

    = 175,760,000

    Case 2: When repetition is not allowed.

    Therefore, the total number of license plates that can be generated

    = 26*25*24*10*9*8*7

    = 78,624,000
