    disregard the negative sign for the moment ...

    take ur whole number (32) and multiply it by ur denominator (5) ... and u get 160 ... now add that to ur numerator (1) ... now we have 161 ... thats ur new numerator ... and u put it over the same denominator (5) ... so we now have an improper fraction of 161/5 ... now put ur sign back in ... and u now have - 161/5.

    And thats as simple as it gets because it does not reduce. Although, ur not really simplifying it, ur just changing its form from a mixed number to an improper fraction.
