Explain why the roots of a quadratic equation are complex if the value of the discriminant is less than 0.

    0
    Discriminant b²-4ac is under the radical in the quadratic formula.

    If b²-4ac is negative, you can't get real roots because under root of a negative value is not real

    radical, under root and square root are the same thing here
