The path of a rotating fan has a diameter of about 18 inches and a circumference of about 56 inches. The path of a smaller model of the fan has a circumference of about 9 inches. What is the diameter of the rotating path of the smaller model? Round the nearest tenth.

    Proportionately the smaller diameter

    18*9=162

    162/56=2.89 inches

    round it so it's approx 3 inches
