The length of a rectangle is 5 less than twice its width. The perimeter is 26 meters. Find the

dimensions of the rectangle.

    Make the width (x)

    Length = 2x - 4

    Perimeter = 26m=2 (x) + 2 (2x-5)

    Distribute

    26m=2x+4x-10

    Combine like terms:

    6x=36m

    Divide

    X=6m

    Width=6m

    Length=7m
