    Height of the pole = 6 feet,

    Step-by-step explanation:

    We have 2 congruent right angled triangles.

    The base of each triangle is 1/2 * 16 = 8 feet and the hypotenuse is 10 feet long.

    By Pythagoras:

    10^2 = 8^2 + h^2 where h is the height of the pole>

    h^2 = 10^2 - 8^2

    h^2 = 100 - 64 = 36

    h = 6 feet,
