    If your amount of fencing was 247.10 then you would divide that by 4 and multiply your result by 36 to find the amount of money needed to build a fence, your result is $2,196, now of course you have have more than 4 feet left but since the problem asks every 4 feet of fencing costs $36, I'm going to assume that if you have more than 4 but less than 8 you get that for free
